“Apps change. Gadgets break. Technology grows obsolete. But teachers will continue to take creative risks and experiment with new ideas.” — John Spencer, in Vintage

We are living in a super-sonic world where hi-tech gadgets have made our written work flawless and flashier! Formatting, spell checks, language errors, better vocab enhancement etc. all done in a blink of the eye. All this sounds super-cool, and we are bound to say, “Why Not?”

However, do you realize that at the end, all you have is a manipulated content that definitely isn’t your original work! And I doubt you will recall all the errors that were corrected in the journey.

Here is an “easy to understand and follow” advice that can actually turn your writing into solid gold without the unnecessary use of technology.

1. USE YOUR 5 SENSES LIBERALLY

Creative content must never be a cut and paste job. My advice is to depend heavily on your 5 senses as you begin. With the visual and aural senses combined with touch, taste, and smell your content can be a blended pot-pourrie of flaming scenarios.

2. FOCUS ON YOUR AUDIENCE

Once you begin writing, always keep in mind the audience or your readers: people who will be enjoying your writing. Students, parents, friends etc. Sprinkle and intersperse information, anecdotes or descriptions that hooks the attention of your readers.

3. USE PLENTY OF WIT AND HUMOUR

It is very easy to extract teary emotions from your readers but difficult to make them laugh.  Develop and create a repertoire of witty statements, hilarious analogies, puns and cheeky quips. Insert these liberally to keep your audience entertained.

4. ENHANCE YOUR VOCABULARY

Again, an easy way to get your writing recognized and appreciated is to enhance your vocabulary to a level of sophistication as well as using it appropriately throughout the content.

5. USE FIGURES OF SPEECH

This is the most creative way to be visibly effective. Being metaphoric and rhetoric in your dialogues has become the latest trend in writing. Use these liberally and watch your stories become stylish and smart.

Thinking critically cannot be generated on the screen. It has to come from your soul.  Your unlimited imagination, your style, your stories and your magnetic method of enthralling your audience.  All these are bound to create magic in what you write and create.

Happy Writing!
