JANE D. HULL SAID, “The most overwhelming key to a child’s success is the positive involvement of Parents”

We know that one thing which keeps the parents away from being involved with schools is their discomfort with them. And this discomfort often stems from parents not knowing how to get involved. The schools with commitment to parents’ involvement take an active role in helping parents learn a variety of ways to be involved.

A recent review finds that a strong positive effect on students’ achievement is perceived when parents work with their children. It not only improves the students’ behavior and attendance but positively affects students’ achievement.

For this the school uses:

  • Workshops
  • School based programs
  • School orientation events
  • Online advice videos
  • Social media sites – Facebook, Instagram, Google Plus, Twitter, etc.
  • Conferences
  • Share school experiences through forms etc.
  • School events

A significant improvement in a child’s language and reading skills from pre-school to high school is possible only if parents work along with their child.

Parents play a significant role in their child’s education. To nurture such relations, requires a lot of work by both educators and parents. Although success will not come easy, the rewards are too great for both.
